Sous Chef - Seahouses

The Olde Ship Inn in Seahouses is the most recent addition to the Inn Hospitality Group. With it’s bar, restaurant and bedrooms the business has stood the test of time and is a popular destination for day visitors to the Northumberland coast and holiday makers alike to rest up and refuel after a day’s exploring. With it’s fire place always burning it is no surprise that the Ship Inn also has a strong, regular trade.

We’re now looking to add an ambitious Sous Chef to our team who is keen to make their mark on this destination eatery.

Our ideal candidate will

  • Be a current Sous chef or senior Chef de Partie with 12 months experience in their current role.
  • Have a passion for producing high quality food.
  • An excellent record of supervising/leading a kitchen team.
  • Have their finger on the pulse of current food trends.
  • The flexibility to respond to a range of different challenges within the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • To produce a consistent standard of food preparation, cooking and dish presentation in line with the Head Chef’s requirements.
  • Fill in for the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation as well as assisting in menu creation and dish development.
  • To ensure the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness In line with statutory and company requirements.
  • Controlling costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins and achieving operational targets.
  • Manage and supervise the kitchen team, establishing working schedules and assessing performance.
